What's in the Program
This is a complete program, no loose sheets or having to photocopy from a master book.
Teaching tips has been included due to the fact that when a student is being helped, that helper needs to know basic teaching tips.
The reason for disastrous results in the past may have been due to poor teaching methods resulting in frustration on the part of the reader.
Unfortunately due to teaching and training institutions not training their teachers properly, the student suffers as a result. So please read these tips carefully for a successful experience for both the student and the teacher / trainer / parent / helper.
The aim of easy2read2006® is to slow down reading until 'word attack' is accurate, independent and confident.
Remember that an ounce of praise goes such a long way!
Pre assessment and post assessment
These are provided for the student and the teacher to assess just what is known and what is not known regarding the alphabet, numbers and words. If a letter of the alphabet isn't known, then the alphabet book can be used.
These assessment sheets are given both before and after the program to show what is known, what needs to be learnt and how the student has improved.
Introduction of the code - easy2read® 2006 reading program
- The rationale of easy2read2006® is that accurate, independent reading of english is possible because the clue to correct pronunciation of every word is given.
- This is achieved by the student learning the code, using common words and reading simple sentences.
- They actually read by the end of the first lesson, which builds their confidence.
- They mark off their completed lesson on their checklist.
- Texts for independent reading follow.
Easy2read2006® reading program worksheets book
This workbook has comprehension statements and questions about the sentences in the reading program book to complete. The student can read these too. The answers are at the end of this book.
They begin with a simple letter with comprehension questions, and progress to longer texts which contain scientific information. These texts have the code for the first reading, then without the code for the second reading.
